Born and raised in Calumet City, a suburb of Chicago, Stockton has resided in Northwest Indiana since the age of 16. She remains a “city kid”, claiming Chicago roots. She has written copy for websites, resumes, policies, fiction, and flash, and specializes in poetry and creative nonfiction.
Stockton currently lives with her husband, three adult sons and three unruly dogs, and is enrolled at Bay Path University seeking an MFA in Creative Nonfiction, specializing in Narrative Medicine.

Two pieces, “Black” and “Light Oak”, were chosen for publication in Purdue Northwest’s literary journal, Furnace. Stockton was also awarded a First Place in Creative Nonfiction for “Black”, about her experience starting a job at a funeral home and cemetery.
